Advanced Dental Technology

A Modern Approach to Comfortable, Precise Dentistry

At Hendricks Family Dentistry, we invest in the technology that makes your visit faster, more comfortable, and more accurate. From digital scans that replace messy impressions to in-office 3D printing that delivers same-day restorations, every tool in our practice is chosen with one goal in mind: better outcomes for our patients in Brunswick, Brunswick Hills, Strongsville, and Hinckley.

Below is an overview of the technology you'll find at our Center Road office and how each piece improves your care.

What We Offer

Explore the services patients rely on from our experienced team of dentists near you. We provide comprehensive dental care in a comfortable, family-focused environment.

CEREC Same-Day Crowns

CEREC technology allows us to design, mill, and place a permanent ceramic crown in a single visit. Instead of wearing a temporary crown for two to three weeks while a lab fabricates the final restoration, you walk out the same day with a custom-fitted crown made of high-strength ceramic.

The benefits patients notice most:

  • One appointment instead of two
  • No temporary crowns to manage
  • No second round of numbing or impressions
  • A precise digital fit, milled to your exact tooth structure

iTero Digital Impressions

Traditional impressions involve trays of putty held against your teeth for several minutes. The iTero scanner replaces that process with a small wand that captures a detailed 3D model of your mouth in minutes — no goop, no gagging, and no remakes due to distorted impressions.

We use iTero scans for crowns, clear aligners, night guards, and treatment planning. The digital file integrates directly with our CEREC mill and 3D printer, so your restoration can move from scan to finished product without ever leaving our office.

In-House 3D Printing

Our in-office 3D printer creates surgical guides, retainers, night guards, aligner trays, and provisional restorations on-site. By keeping production in-house, we cut turnaround times from weeks to days — and in many cases, hours.

What we print on-site includes:

  • Surgical guides for implant placement
  • Clear aligner trays and orthodontic models
  • Night guards and retainers
  • Temporary and permanent restorations

Drill-Free Dentistry with Air Abrasion

For many patients, the sound and vibration of a traditional drill is the most stressful part of a dental visit. Air abrasion offers a quieter, gentler alternative: a fine stream of microscopic particles removes early decay without heat, pressure, or vibration — and often without the need for numbing.

This approach works especially well for early-stage cavities, sealant prep, and treating children or patients with dental anxiety. It also preserves more healthy tooth structure than traditional drilling.

Intraoral Cameras

We use intraoral cameras during exams so you can see exactly what we see. A small, pen-sized camera captures high-resolution images of your teeth and gums, which we display on a chairside monitor. It's a small detail that makes a real difference — when you can see a cracked filling or early decay yourself, treatment decisions become a conversation rather than a recommendation.

Technology Matters

Why This Technology Matters

Once your initial appointment is scheduled, you have two options for completing your new patient registration forms:

Receptionist with glasses smiling and handing a keycard to a woman at a dental office counter.

Investing in this level of equipment isn't about novelty. Every tool listed above reduces appointment time, improves accuracy, or makes treatment more comfortable — usually all three. It's also part of how our team supports patients across a wide range of needs, including our work in dentistry for patients with disabilities, where shorter appointments and quieter procedures matter most.

Get to know the team using these tools every day on our Meet the Doctors page.

Have Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Is dental technology like CEREC and iTero covered by insurance?

When the technology is part of a covered procedure — like a crown, implant, or orthodontic treatment — the procedure itself is typically billed the same way it would be with traditional methods. We'll verify your benefits and walk you through any out-of-pocket costs before treatment begins.

Is 3D imaging safe? How does the radiation compare to regular X-rays?

Cone beam CT scans use significantly less radiation than a traditional medical CT scan, and modern protocols keep exposure as low as reasonably achievable. We only recommend 3D imaging when the diagnostic benefit clearly outweighs the minimal exposure.

Can I really get a permanent crown in one visit?

Yes. With CEREC, we scan, design, mill, and place your final ceramic crown in a single appointment — typically around two hours from start to finish. No temporary crown, no second visit.

Is drill-free dentistry an option for every cavity?

Air abrasion works best for early-stage decay, sealant preparation, and minor restorations. Larger or deeper cavities may still require a traditional approach, but we'll always discuss your options before starting any treatment.

Do I need to do anything special to prepare for a digital scan?

No preparation is needed. Digital impressions take only a few minutes, don't involve any messy materials, and are far more comfortable than traditional putty impressions.
